Angels are given the life of a person. It sounds like an idea that offers some innocent humor and has the potential to show some aspects of human life that we're too close to see. Even with such a fantastical perspective, it's not that easy to be original. I'd even go so far as to say that if one makes a feel-good fantasy movie with superpowers, fairies or angels, it's always a disappointment if the movie fails to showcase fresh ideas. In this case, I should say, originality is so-so.

The themes of this fantasy film are mostly universal, but at least some of the jokes are quite Polish - even Adam Marlyss, although very popular in Poland and famous in Central and Northern Europe, is not in the rest of the world. Places probably never heard of. It's still a movie worthy of international distribution. On the other hand, most people who are willing to watch fairly low-budget films from Eastern Europe prefer fantasy films with liberal values, where happiness comes from a conservative and somewhat selfish approach. Obviously, a lot has changed recently in Poland and the rest of Eastern Europe. Looking at the movies being made there now, they often seem to show a message that not much has changed after all - corruption, evil politicians, prostitution and all that dirt is still there, it's just that everyone gets to see more. Some interesting points have been shown on these topics, but not in this case. It's a feel-good fantasy movie, and in fact, I should have taken it, but since it only made me laugh a few times, I must admit I expected more. Social comments are kept to a minimum, I'm just wondering how an unemployed man can go after quality degradation and luxury. Well, I've never been to Poland myself so I don't really know, but since the scenes are only slightly more interesting, they seem somewhat pointless.

Overall, I didn't find this fantasy movie boring at all. There are no serious flaws and the atmosphere is great. The amateurish nature mentioned in the summary is not really a problem, it applies mostly to screenplay and partly to cinematography. The script appears to have been made with a combination of two different plot lines, and it didn't quite work out. Some important people disappeared after an hour and I would have liked to see them again before the end.

Filming in "Paradise" is clearly limited only by imagination and certain religious principles. I found the perspectives in this fantasy film somewhat boring, closely related to our time and culture.

What can I say? It was a nice experience with some interesting scenes, but I probably won't remember much in a month. Anyway, it's worth a look when the possibilities to see something from Poland are limited. From the Polish movies I've seen recently, I still prefer "Tomorrow's Weather".
