Celtic are closing in on a deadline-day swoop for Dundee duo Jack Hendry and Scott Bain, reports the BBC .

The Scottish champions are on the hunt for a goalkeeper following an injury to first-choice shot-stopper Craig Gordon and Bain, who is on loan at Hibernian, has emerged as a target after a move for Motherwell's Scott Carson was rejected.

Hendry, 22, is a defender who counts Wigan Athletic and Partick Thistle among his former clubs.

Celtic to look at goalkeeper after Gordon blow

Celtic may need to bring a new goalkeeper in during the January transfer window after Craig Gordon suffered an injury blow, Brendan Rodgers has conceded.

Gordon was taken off with a knee injury at half-time during the Bhoys' 1-0 win over Hibernian on Saturday and, , it leaves Rodgers with only one fit senior goalkeeper - Dorus De Vries - in his squad.
