Valif 20 mg (Vardenafil) works by inhibiting the enzyme PDE5 (phosphodiesterase type 5). In a healthy man, sexual arousal causes the release of a chemical called nitric oxide in the penis. Nitric oxide helps to increase levels of cGMP, which causes the blood vessels in the penis to relax and expand, allowing more blood to flow in. PDE5 normally breaks down cGMP, but Vardenafil blocks this process, allowing cGMP to accumulate, thereby increasing blood flow and helping produce an erection.
